Last night, I took a break from my Breaking Bad on Netflix marathon to tune into the 2013 Emmy Awards red carpet. I was too engrossed in Breaking Bad to watch the award show, but I could not miss out on the fashion.
Some looks I loved. Some I was on the fence about and others I absolutely hated. Here they are:
Some people thought that singer Carrie Underwood looked like she was getting ready for the prom but I loved this Romona Keveza gown. It was so pretty.
Claire Danes had hands down my favorite look of the night. The Armani dress was simply beautiful and her faux bob was great took.
Sofia Vergara is always so fun to watch and it’s hard to go wrong in a mermaid cut Vera Wang with curves like the Modern Family star has.
Kate Mara was white hot in this J. Mendel number. I almost developed a girl crush on her after that look.
I really enjoy Michelle Dockery as Lady Mary on Downton Abbey but I was on the fence about this color blocked Prada dress. I liked the cut and the bow neck but I think it would’ve been even better in different colors.
I hate to say anything bad about my girl Keri Washington but I did not love this dress. The Scandal star streamed the Marchesa show during Mercedes-Benz fashion week and liked the finale look so much that she called and asked them for it. I’m not sold.
Julie Bowen is hilarious when she imitates her friend and co-star Sofia Vergara. She says they touch base to make sure they don’t wear the same color but they should’ve went a little further. The sleeves and ruffles on Julie’s dress were all wrong.
I didn’t like the color or print on Lena Dunham’s dress at all but there was another problem with her look too. Large tattoos on your arm and chest make it very hard to look polished in evening gowns. Keep this in mind before you get inked, ladies!
I usually enjoy Honor, the designers of Girls star Zosia Mamet’s dress, but this look was a hot mess. The black bustier looks haphazard in the middle of the floral dress.
That’s all for now. What did you think of the red carpet. Whose looks did you amour and whose did you abhor? Sound off in the comments.
